Call for Content
When and where will the CityLAB Sommerkonferenz 2026 take place?
The Sommerkonferenz 2026 will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Umweltforum (Pufendorfstraße 11, 10249 Berlin).
Who can participate in the open call?
Our open call is exclusively aimed at employees in public administration and academia. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from other fields and ask for your understanding.
What formats are available and what can be submitted?
Impulse: This format gives you the opportunity to deliver a short and inspiring presentation that provides a concise insight into a specific topic. (Duration: 10 minutes, speakers: 1 person)
Best Practices: Would you like to share one or more compelling success stories from your work environment and pass on your learnings? This format offers space for practical insights and concrete experiences. (Duration: 10–25 minutes, incl. Q&A – speakers: up to 2 people)
Talk: In this format, you can explore a topic in greater depth and convey hands-on insights. An inspiring talk that presents content clearly, relevantly, and vividly. (Duration: 25 minutes, incl. optional Q&A – speakers: up to 2 people)
Workshop: In this format, participants are actively involved through practical knowledge transfer. (Duration: 60 minutes, setup: table islands for 15–30 people)
Networking: This open and informal format is designed for meeting and exchanging ideas within the community. Presentations are possible but not the main focus. (Duration: 50 minutes – at 9 a.m., extras: free breakfast & drinks). For 30–50 participants.
Panel: This discussion format brings together voices from different perspectives and makes opinions and controversies visible through joint conversation. (Duration: 50 minutes, incl. optional Q&A – speakers: up to four people incl. moderation).
Interview / Dialogue: A dialog-based format that highlights different viewpoints and brings expertise together through conversation. (Duration: 25 minutes, incl. optional Q&A – speakers: 1 person in conversation with a moderator)
Special Format: Do you have an innovative format idea that enables creative exchange and sets new impulses? We look forward to your proposal!

What is the capacity of the rooms?
Saal (main stage): up to 200 people.
Seminar Room 7 (side stage): up to 50 people.
Seminar Rooms 8–10 (workshop rooms): up to 30 people, setup: table islands.
Seminar Room 11 (workshop room): up to 15 people, setup: table islands.
Which setup is possible for my workshop?
There is only one possible setup: table islands for up to 30 people.
